During the year 2011-12, the Arbitral Court of the Ecuadorian-American Chamber of Commerce of Quito delivered a decision in favor of Lafarge Cement Ecuador, in the arbitral process interposed by Oiltrader about the price differences of consumed fuels, between 2005 and 2006. Oiltrader interposed a nullity action against the principal decision, claim rejected in all its parts by the Presidency of the Provincial Justice Court of Pichincha in Ecuador.The firm Romero Arteta Ponce Abogados was in charge of the legal defense trough the associates Diego Romero and Gabriela Villagomez, members of the National and International Arbitration Department.

Ecuador’s Lafarge Cementos announces $36 million cash dividend. Lafarge is an important client of Romero Arteta Ponce Attornyes at Law. Shareholders of Lafarge Cementos S.A., an Ecuadorean cement producer, approved a $36 million cash dividend for the 2011 earnings period,  a unit of the world’s biggest cement maker, Lafarge SA (LF), will distribute the payment to shareholders this month, according to a statement published today on the Guayaquil securities exchange’s website. The company didn’t give the per share amount.
